Having been diagnosed with scoliosis during her early adolescence, and during a daunting time with lots of uncertainty, Teresa’s allied health professionals always made her feel taken care of, which ignited a passion for her to pursue a career in physiotherapy one day.
“I love seeing the improvements that patients get from physiotherapy. What can seem like second nature to me can make a big impact on someone’s pain or function and I really enjoy being able to use that skill set to help others.”
Teresa graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy Practice in 2017 and since then, has worked within one of Melbourne’s major public hospitals, completing a variety of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal rotations. She has a keen interest in treating low back pain, shoulder pain, post-surgical conditions and persistent pain. She also has a soft spot for rehabilitation after orthopaedic surgery – anything from ACL reconstructions to joint replacements. Teresa is currently pursuing further studies in women’s health through the APA.
Teresa is passionate about working together with her patients to understand their journey and help them achieve their full potential. She enjoys using a combination of manual, exercise and aquatic therapies to help decrease pain and increase quality of life.
Away from the clinic, Teresa enjoys spending time with her Great Dane pup, going to the beach and watching rhythmic gymnastics.
