Pilates’ focus on strengthening your mid section, sometimes called the core, provides improved posture. If you have good posture, it means that your spine is in alignment and you’re not putting unnecessary pressure on it. Since the spinal cord is the largest nerve in the body, taking pressure off of it can relieve pain in many areas of your body.
Pilates can help with injury recovery and prevention by strengthening the muscles around weak joints and providing greater stability. The gentle, low-impact movements of Pilates reduce the risk of injury while performing Pilates movements.
