Sam is a senior member of our team and brings a wealth of experience to the clinic. He uses the knowledge and skill he has developed over his 15 years of practice in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy to help his patients feel good and reach their goals.
Sam has worked extensively with athletes in elite sports settings, particularly in gymnastics, swimming and football. He currently combines his role at Life Ready Physio with his job as the team physiotherapist for the Perth Glory in the A-league Women’s competition.
He holds a Master’s degree in sports physiotherapy from La Trobe University and his expertise in managing sports injuries has been recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Association who awarded him with titling as a sports and exercise physiotherapist.
In 2019, Sam returned to Perth from Sydney where he had been living and working since 2011. While in Sydney Sam ran his own sports physiotherapy clinic as well as consulting at the University of New South Wales and had a particular focus on helping school-aged children and adolescents manage their sporting injuries.
Education is another of Sam’s passions. Alongside his clinical roles, he teaches the spinal pain course at Notre Dame University and provides clinical mentoring to other physiotherapists at Life Ready.
Sam’s compassionate, calm and caring nature is highlighted by his “patient first” approach. He places an emphasis on educating his patients to help them understand their pain and injury, empowering them to work towards less pain, better function and a top quality-of-life.
